Sacred Spaces

Within each of us lies a sacred space. It is one space we do not violate, negotiate, or compromise for any reason. We suffer when our inner spaces are compromised. It takes us a long time to recover our equilibrium.

Outside of us, are the sacred spaces, the sacred forests. Preserved for centuries by careful cultural practices and social taboos, the last of the sacred forests are dwindling today. In the weeks that follow, I will blog about the sacred forests and sacred natural elements.

Read about Sacred Forests in  Faces Magazine. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to write about the beautiful practice and beautiful Earth.

Wonder why we should save sacred forests, this article can give you an idea:

  1. The traditional India still has many ways to help keep things demarcate spaces, forests, rivers, lakes etc as sacred. I just wish the modern India gives up its fake-modernity and sees the wisdom of this ancient tradition which is a wholistic way to save and protect the environment from meaningless devastation caused by humans.

  2. Thank you, Beloo Di! We need sacred spaces now, more than ever. If we have one, we should hold on to it with everything we have. If we don't have one, we should create plenty of them! Let us hold ourselves to higher standards of humility, gratitude, and behavior when it comes to sacred spaces.

  3. Our conscience has been called "That still, small voice" within us all. Small chance for it to be heard over the mounting din of human activity. The world desperately needs writers like you Rani and I hope you will gain access to more Indian publications as well. God Bless.

    1. Thank you, Chitra ka. I feel that we need to discover our innerscapes and outer scape and forge a connection between the two and to be deeply rooted and connect with life. Is there another way?
